JOURNEY: A passage through sounds and words
“At defining moments in our lives, it is the words of wisdom, the songs of the sages, and the stories of strength that guide us through the narrow places, give us heart, and help us find safe passage through the tumult. Wisdom is forged in the fires of creation, generated by the friction between the opposites that define our lives. Through their shared love of song, story and movement, Peggy Pettitt and Meg Sinclair string their tales of search and struggle on the soulful thread that runs through Celtic, Blues and Gospel music. They offer up a moving evening of shared wisdom & inspiration from two worldly, wise and gifted women who have discovered the commonality in their–and our—diverse personal and cultural histories, validating the ancient assertion that, “Truth is One, but the sages speak of it by many names.”
Peggy Pettitt is an actress, playwright and storyteller. Caught Between The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea and In The Spirit for Real are among her original works. Peggy is a recipient of NYFA, NEA, and Fulbright Fellowships in performance. She lives in New York City and teaches self-scripting at Naropa University and New York University’s MFA and BFA programs in performance.
Meg Sinclair is a pianist, composer and dance accompanist. Her works have appeared off-Broadway, at Playhouse 91 and various dance venues around the world. She currently accompanies classes at The Mark Morris Dance Group in Brooklyn and teaches privately. Meg is a member of NYWFT and is the publisher of Holistic Primary Care: News for Health & Healing.
